Dr. Jamali was motivated to go into cardiology at a young age, after watching his father recover from bypass surgery. After graduating with highest honors from the University of California, Berkeley, he attended the UCLA School of Medicine and chose Stanford University for his post-graduate training in Internal Medicine. Dr. Jamali then completed fellowships in General and Interventional Cardiology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he also served as Chief Fellow. Throughout his career, Dr Jamali has published in multiple scientific journals, written textbook chapters, and presented at international cardiology conferences. He holds an appointment as an assistant clinical professor of medicine at UCLA School of Medicine, and is affiliated with the Smidt Heart Institute at Cedars-Sinai.
Dr Jamali has been practicing medicine in the San Fernando Valley for over 16 years. He launched the first structural heart program in the valley, offering cutting edge procedures such as PFO/ASD closure, watchman, and minimally invasive aortic valve surgery to the local community. He has also served as Chief of Medicine and as Chief of Staff at West Hills Hospital. Additionally, Dr. Jamali serves as the Secretary of SBMAA, an international non-profit organization devoted to healthcare equality.
Dr Jamali lives in West Hills with his wife and two daughters, and enjoys biking, golf, and martial arts (holding a black belt in Hap-Ki-Do). He is fluent in Spanish, Hindi, Gujarati, and Urdu.

Advanced Procedures Performed By Dr. Jamali
● High-risk coronary stenting–opening up blocked arteries in the heart, including in patients with weak hearts, severe blockages, or ongoing heart attacks
● Left atrial appendage closure–placing a filter in the heart to allow atrial fibrillation patients to get off blood thinners forever
● Transcatheter aortic valve replacement–minimally invasive replacement of the aortic valve
● PFO/ASD closure–closure of holes in the heart, oftentimes for patients with stroke or congestive heart failure
● Impella insertion–placing an artificial heart pump for patients in shock
● Loop Recorder Insertion–placing a monitoring device under the skin to evaluate patients who pass out, have strokes, or have a history of irregular heartbeat
● Venous ablation–rerouting the blood supply of the leg for patients with swelling, discoloration, varicose veins, or non-healing ulcers
● Peripheral intervention–opening blockages in the arteries of the legs for patients who get pain with walking or have non-healing ulcers
● Renal angioplasty–opening an artery to the kidney for patients with severe high blood pressure.
